Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakhs each to the family of the deceased who died in a lightning strike in the state.
"I am deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of more than 50 people in various incidents of storm, rain, lightning, tree and wall collapse in Bihar. I express my deepest condolences to all the deceased. May God provide strength to the families affected by the disaster in this hour of grief.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his condolences over the deaths and announced an ex-gratia grant of four lakh rupees to the families of all the deceased.
Sharing details about the incident, District Collector Sanjay Agarwal said, "The lightning struck the eight people in the Joratarai village during rains. The six students who were returning to their homes back from school and the three other people took shelter under a shed below a tree."

GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) Spokesperson, RV Sheshan informed about the same and said that the airport authorities took notice of the damages incurred by the lightning strike and rectified, and replaced the damaged lights to resume the airport operations.
One person was killed and two sustained injuries in a lightning strike at Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district, District collector Jeyaseelan said on Sunday.
