The Meteorological Centre, Chennai has predicted light thunderstorms and lightning with light to moderate rain at isolated places in the state on Friday morning. The Meteorological department issued a notice at 7 am.

The Chennai Meteorological Department forecasted on Sunday that light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvannamalai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Tirupur districts of Tamil Nadu for Today.
Light to moderate rains are expected to continue across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area on Friday.
According to the Indian Meteorological department, thunderstorm and lightning at one or two areas of Tamil Nadu is also expected.
Light to moderate rainfall has occurred at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the rest of the districts of Odisha, IMD Bhubaneswar, scientist Sanjeeb Dwivedi said on Sunday.
"Light thunderstorms and lightning with light to moderate rain are very likely in isolated places over Cuddalore, Villipuram, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Puducherry and Karaikal districts of Tamil Nadu," said the Met Department.
The Regional Met Centre, New Delhi had earlier predicted light to moderate intensity rain with heavy rain in isolated places in and around Delhi and the NCR.
IMD Bhopal Meteorologist, Prakash Dhole says that there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at some parts of western Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
