Rain lashed parts of Delhi on Sunday morning as the India Meteorological Department predicted light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms likely to occur over Delhi during the next two days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds for the next five days across Delhi-NCR.
For Delhi the weather department in an observation at 2:15 pm said, "Radar observations suggest Light to moderate/hailstorm/Thunderstorm /lightning Accompanied with Gusting wind (50-60 kmph reaching Upto 80). The condition will be it said be valid till 4. 15 pm today.
Shobhit Katiyar, Senior Scientist, IMD Himachal Pradesh says, "In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain has been observed at many places in Himachal. In the last 24 hours, thundershowers have also been recorded at some places. No heat wave conditions have been recorded anywhere."
According to IMD, isolated heavy rains are likely in Kokan, Goa and middle part of Maharashtra, Saurashtra and Kutch during June 18 to 21. Meanwhile, Gujarat can experience light to moderate rainfall from June 16 to 17.
