The forest officials in Jodhpur have traced the movement of leopard near the Sursagar area. "Efforts are ongoing to tranquilize the large cat. We will capture the big cat soon," an official said.
As many as 16 countries, including Brazil, Nepal, Bangladesh and, Malaysia, have formally joined the newly formed big cat alliance led by India, Environment Ministry officials said on Friday.

India's leopard population has reached 13,874, with 1.08 percent per year growth between 2018 and 2022, as per a report released by the Environment Ministry on Thursday.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday summoned officials of the Forest Department on the issue of human-wildlife conflict in the state, said the Chief Minister's Office in a statement.
Taking to its social media handle, Uttarkashi Police posted on X, "Major action by Uttarkashi Police on wildlife smuggling. A joint team of SOG, Purola police station and WCCB arrested a smuggler smuggling leopard skin. 2 skins were recovered."
As many as 718 snow leopards were reported as part of the first-ever scientific exercise that was carried out by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
