The residents of Leh City in Ladakh are enjoying the relaxation of the curfew on Thursday. The curfew was enforced after the violence on September 24, which claimed the lives of four people.
Ladakh Lieutenant Governor (LG) Kavinder Gupta emphasised on Wednesday that the Central government is working to "fulfil all the hopes of Ladakh" and expressed hope that the "matter will be resolved soon".
Bhushan further criticised the Home Ministry revoking the FCRA (Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act) licence of Wangchuk's NGO, Students Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL), terming it as "illegal".
People flocked to the market in Leh, Ladakh, to purchase groceries, clothes, and other essential items following a three-hour relaxation of the curfew here.
Prohibitions under Sec 163 of the BNSS, 2023 continue to be imposed in Leh following the violence on September 24. Assembling five or more persons is prohibited in the district; no procession, rally or march to be carried out without prior written approval.

The restrictions have been imposed in Leh along with heavy deployment of security forces following a violent protest on September 24, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office was set on fire.
"Innocent people who had come for a peaceful protest. We don't know what kind of mobilisation happened, but the violence started suddenly. Four people died there, and many were left injured. It is the darkest day in our history," Gyalson told ANI.
According to the official order, assembly of five or more persons is banned in the district. No procession, rally or march to be carried out without prior written approval.
Prohibitions under Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, continue to be imposed in Leh following the violence on Wednesday amid the demands for statehood for Ladakh and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
