CPI General Secretary D Raja on Sunday emphasised the importance of maintaining law and order during the election period, reacting to the Dularchand Yadav murder case.
RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari addressed the arrest of JDU's Mokama candidate Anant Singh in the Dularchand Yadav murder case. He stated that the law and order in Bihar has collapsed and further questioned the delay in the arrest.
The SP chief questioned the law and order situation and asked how such crimes could occur in areas where top leaders, including the Prime Minister and Home Minister, were campaigning.
Referring to the Mokama murder case, Yadav said, "Murders are taking place in broad daylight, names are there in FIRs, but still the accused passes by the police station and campaigns, he is roaming around with a convoy of 40 people carrying guns and ammunition. A murder has taken place,
Speaking on the matter, RK Singh said, "The Election Commission must ensure strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct. This is a failure of both the Election Commission and the district administration. It is deeply concerning and unacceptable during the election period."
