Chief Secretary Sukhvir Singh Sandhu, Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar and Secretary to Chief Minister RK Meenakshi Sundaram on Sunday conducted an on-site inspection of landslide areas of Joshimath town.
In a telephonic conversation wih Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inquired about the steps taken for the safety and rehabilitation of the affected residents of Joshimath in the wake of the land subsidence incident.
The Uttarakhand adminsitration on Sunday directed to vacate the inspection bungalow in the Joshimath town of Chamoli as huge cracks appeared in its adjacent inspection building of the Public Works Department (PWD), Nirakshan Bhawan, last night.

The crucial Joshimath-Malari border road in the Chamoli district which connects the China border has developed cracks at several places due to landslides in Joshimath.
The coordination committees have been formed to provide help in relief and rescue of the people affected by the landslide. During his inspection of Joshimath landslide area, the Chief Minister also met the victims.
Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana on Saturday said that there is no subsidence in the entire area of Joshimath but there is a part of the city where there are cracks which is not big.
