Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday slammed the central government over the four new Labour Codes, alleging that the government has snatched away the rights that workers and new avenues for their exploitation have been opened.
The implementation of four labour codes, consolidating 29 existing laws, represents a transformative reform for Indian industry and workers, according to Anant Goenka, Vice Chairman of RPG Group and President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
India has expanded social security coverage from 19 per cent in 2014 to 64 per cent at present and now stands as the world's second-largest provider of social protection, Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Wednesday.

"They want the discussion to happen for 10 hours on the 8th and 9th, on SIR or electoral reforms. We are welcoming it, but it would have been better if they had done the same in the monsoon session. So much business would have happened in the parliament by now," the Congress MP told ANI.<
