The encounter which broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district entered into second day on Friday, police said.
According to Kashmir Zone police, the encounter broke out at DH Pora area in Samno village of Kulgam, and is underway. They said that police and security forces are on duty.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, RR Swain visited Kulgam and reviewed the security scenario of the district and also chaired a high-level meeting of police, army and CAPF officers, said a press release by J-K police on Monday.
In an attempt to reduce the spread of the fire, the locals were seen scraping the partially burned sticks and logs to make sure all the hot embers were off them.
"2 terrorists killed. Bodies of the killed terrorists are being retrieved from the site of the encounter. The cordon & search operation is still in progress. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Police Zone said in a post on X.
