Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and leader of the opposition in the state, Jairam Thakur hit out at Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, saying he kept the resignation of three independent MLA's pending and accepted them with delay to save the Congress government in the state.
Himachal Pradesh Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Wednesday said that the three Independent MLAs who resigned earlier now fall under the preview of the "Anti-Defection Law."
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, citing Supreme Court verdicts, has written to the Speaker of the HP Assembly, urging the acceptance of the resignations of three Independent Legislators, Hoshiyar Singh, KL Thakur and Ashish Sharma.
"We have received their resignations but we are examining the rules and constitutional provisions for this, so far we have not accepted their resignations," Pathania said, speaking about the resignations of the three Independent MLAs on Friday.
Abhishek Rana, son of disqualified Congress MLA Rajinder Rana, said he received threat calls on Tuesday evening, while his father's office also received a threat letter.
