Pilgrims from various states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu faced difficulties on their visit to the Sabarimala temple. Most of the pilgrims who came to Kottayam along with their children got caught in trouble.

"The two women who died in the incident were hit by the KSRTC bus driver while he reversing the vehicle at the bus stop in Tumkuru. Several people were trying to board the bus when the accident took place," said police.
Since there was no hospital nearby, the lady conductor identified as S.Vasanthamma, helped the pregnant woman. The lady conductor asked the driver to stop the bus and made all the passengers get down from the bus and facilitated the pregnant to deliver the baby on the bus.
