Alleging amendments in jail manual, Amar Jyoti, the Bihar in-charge of Bhim Army's Bharat Ekta Mission, on Wednesday moved Patna High Court against the state government's order releasing former MP and life convict Anand Mohan and 26 others.
While speaking to ANI, Ramdas Athawale said, "I strongly oppose the decision to release former MP Anand Mohan Singh, who was serving a life sentence in the murder case of former DM G Krishnaiah of Bihar's Gopalganj district. I term this decision of the Nitish government as unfortunate".
The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government on Monday notified the release of 27 prisoners, including Anand Mohan Singh, days after amending the Bihar Prison Manual.
Anand Singh was convicted in the 1994 murder of Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiah who was lynched by a mob near Bihar's Muzaffarpur district in 1994.
