Djokovic eased past Czech qualifier Vit Kopriva 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 to kick-off his title ambitions with style on Tuesday. Despite the fact that an injury sustained during the French Open and a subsequent knee surgery affected his preparations, the 37-year-old barely showed any signs of discomfort
The Serbian tennis icon Novak Djokovic on Thursday announced the successful completion of his surgery on his knee that caused him to withdraw from the ongoing French Open competition, where he was defending his men's singles title.
The 25-year-old Sreeshankar, placed seventh in the world rankings, injured his left knee while training at Palakkad, his hometown, earlier this month. He ruled himself out of the marquee multi-sport event as he opted for surgery following a series of consultations and tests, as per Olympics.
Leach was a part of England's impressive 28-run win at Hyderabad and took a wicket in the match. But he suffered an injury in the match and was replaced by youngster Shoaib Bashir in the second Test. Leach had to fly back home from a mid-series break in Abu Dhabi to continue his recovery.
"It was a bit more than a 'clear out' as well. Surgery is always the last option. Surgeries can go very well, but they can also sometimes not go too well and set people back even further, and potentially even end careers," Stokes said.
Dhoni's status in IPL 2024 was subjected to scrutiny by fans as he played the last season with an injured knee. He also underwent a knee surgery immediately after the season earlier this year, which was successful. The last season was also rumoured to be Dhoni's last IPL season.
Stokes had recently come out of ODI retirement to participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, where he played as a specialist batter. His issues with knee has prevented him from playing his role as an all-rounder effectively as he has rarely bowled as of late.
Stokes came out of retirement to help England defend their World Cup title in India, but the choice appeared to backfire when he and the rest of the team were ousted early from the competition.
