Speaking to the media, Shivakumar said, "They wanted to change Gandhi's name. They wanted to kill this scheme. A big movement will start against this decision in Karnataka."
In a post on X, CENTCOM said the strikes were carried out overnight and described the operation as a demonstration of "peace through strength." The command also released a video showing footage of the air strikes.
Panighata Forest Department Ranger Pranab Kumar Das on Saturday said that locals in the area had reported incidents of cattle being killed by a leopard.
