In 2022-23, by January 13, 97.67 LMT of paddy was purchased from 2,214,302 farmers, and Rs 20,022 crore was paid. Against all these benchmarks, 2025-26 has surpassed every previous year, both in the quantity procured and in the total amount paid to farmers.
Amid misleading claims circulating in some quarters regarding paddy losses due to shrinkage and pest damage during storage, the Government of Chhattisgarh has clarified that such losses are neither irregular nor indicative of mismanagement.
Agriculture Minister further stated that, under this procurement, bajra will be procured at 1,848 kilograms per hectare, jowar at 1,539 kilograms per hectare, maize at 1,864 kilograms per hectare, and ragi at 903 kilograms per hectare.
