Amid speculation over a possible change in leadership in Karnataka, state Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Thursday that he and Chief Minister Siddaramiah will travel to Delhi if the party's leadership asks them to do so.
JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad criticised Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over his alleged indifference toward the ongoing conflict between DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah.
Amid the ongoing power tussle within the Karnataka Congress, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he will visit Delhi if the party high command calls him.
Amid speculation over the Karnataka Chief Ministerial post, Karnataka Minister HK Patil on Thursday said that he will discuss the matter with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge if he calls him for a meeting.
"Every political party goes through such turmoils. We know what happened with Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan. We are concerned about Karnataka. The head of the Congress party is not Rahul Gandhi but Mallikarjun Kharge; he should resolve this issue as soon as possible," Alvi told ANI here.
Amid speculation over the Karnataka Chief Ministerial post, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said a decision will be made after a discussion among the high command, CM Siddaramiah, and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
"They (BJP) can say anything. Why are they so worried? Who is addressing? We are here to address the public issues. We are the elected government, not them. Let them raise relevant issues," the Karnataka minister said.
The President, in her address, underscored the Constitution's pivotal role in guiding India's democratic journey and called upon citizens to uphold its core principles--justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
He described the situation as an open conflict, with ministers vying for the Chief Minister position and criticised the Karnataka government, stating that the administration has collapsed and ministers are focused on the upcoming leadership shift rather than their duties.
Speaking with ANI, Kharge stated that the party's high command will decide on the Karnataka Chief Minister post, saying, "Will give medicine when required", implying the issue will be addressed at the right time.
