Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait on Thursday said that Khap representatives will meet President Droupadi Murmu and the Central Government regarding action over the wrestlers' protest.
"We will not allow anything to disrupt the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The entire Delhi Police is on its toes to make sure the inauguration ceremony is conducted smoothly," said Delhi Police Special CP Deepender Pathak.
In the wake of the protesting wrestlers' march towards the newly-built Parliament House which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, Delhi Police heightened the security in the national capital.
According to the top sources of Delhi Police, no permission has been given for this panchayat yet. The protestors will not be allowed to hold Khap Panchayat as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the new Parliament on the same day.
Earlier on Friday, Congress leader Sachin Pilot had also come in support of the wrestler protesting at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. He arrived at Jantar Mantar to meet the wrestlers who were protesting against Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Farmer leader and national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakesh Tikait said that just like the 'Farmers Protest', this protest will also go on for very long.
The mishap occurred near village Khapparwada under Gunderdehi police station limits on Tuesday night, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Harish Rathore.
The representatives of four Khap panchayats and the father of the woman coach, who accused Sports Minister Sandeep Singh of harassment, met the Chandigarh DGP on Tuesday.
Haryana Women Commission's Chairman, on Wednesday, said that it had sought a probe report from the Director General of Chandigarh and Haryana in Sandeep Singh's alleged sexual harassment case within 15 days.
The Khap has also said that they would meet Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and state Governor Bandaru Dattatreya so that the "victim" would get justice.
