Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday slammed BJP leader and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar for his "appeasement politics" remarks over the blasts at the convention centre of a Christian group in Kochi, which claimed at least two lives and left several injured.
Following blasts in Ernakulam district in Kerala, the National Security Guard (NSG) team on Sunday arrived at the spot where the twin blast took place earlier today in Kalamassery.
However, earlier in the evening, the Public Relations Department of Kerala, said that one more woman succumbed to her injuries, taking the toll to two in the blasts.
According to the Public Relations Department of Kerala, a 53-year-old woman who was undergoing treatment at the Kalamassery succumbed to her burn injuries.
Following blasts in Ernakulam district in Kerala, state Ministers K Rajan, VN Vasavan, Antony Raju, Mayor M Anilkumar and others visited Medical College in Kalamasery and met the injured in the blast at Zamra Convention Centre on Sunday.
Addressing the media later on Sunday evening, the minister said that as many as six out of eight people admitted to the hospital are in 'critical condition'.
Kerala Police on Sunday issued a warning against propagating fake news through social media platforms regarding the incident of a serial blast that took place at a prayer meeting in Kalamassery.
"We are always on alert, no separate alert has been given, but we are careful because big cities like Mumbai and Pune are in Maharashtra," Fadnavis said.
Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal, in a post on X, said that the atmosphere of Kerala will not and cannot be 'poisoned by these forces'.
A man has surrendered before the Kerala Police in connection with the serial blasts that took place at a prayer meeting in Kalamassery on Sunday morning, said Kerala ADGP (law and order) MR Ajith Kumar.
