Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that all kinds of humanitarian assistance are being provided for rescue and relief operations in Wayanad district of Kerala, which has been rocked by landslides caused by heavy rains.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the Centre for not taking steps to prevent frequent train derailments and said such incidents are causing loss of lives and railway property. He also said that the landslide in Kerala's Wayanad was a natural calamity.
According to the office of the State Revenue Minister K Rajan, at least 63 people were dead and a total of 116 people are reported to be injured in the landslides that hit the district in the early hours today.
