As rescue and relief operations in landslide-hit areas of Kerala's Wayanad reached the ninth consecutive day, Congress MP KC Venugopal on Wednesday said that this is not the time for a blame game.
"I visited Wayanad with my sister some days back and saw firsthand the devastation, pain, and suffering resulting from this tragedy. More than 200 people are dead, and many are missing, but the eventual casualty count is expected to be over 400," Rahul Gandhi said.
Senior Congress leader AK Antony on Wednesday contributed Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister Disaster Relief Fund for the victims of the Wayanad landslides, which claimed more than 300 lives.
Reacting to the remarks of Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said that through such allegation Yadav is insulting the people affected by the disaster.

The Central Government has approved the request of Kerala's government to rename Kochuveli and Nemom, the two major railway stations of the Thiruvananthapuram district, said an official press release from the State Ministry of Minority Welfare, Sports and Railways.
In coordination with the government authorities and the disaster management teams in the district, Reliance Foundation is on the field in coordination with local authorities to provide all possible support, as per a press release by the Reliance Foundation.
Kerala ADGP (law and order) MR Ajith Kumar said on Tuesday that the rescue and search operations in connection with the landslides that claimed over 300 lives in Wayanad have entered the last stage.
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has donated Rs. 1 crore to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund for relief and rehabilitation activities being taken up following the massive landslide that recently hit Wayanad.
