The first Vande Bharat Express on the Katra-Srinagar route began its journey after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the train yesterday. Passengers gathered at Katra Railway Station to board the train.
Two pairs of Vande Bharat Express trains, Train Nos. 26404/26403 and 26401/26402 were introduced on the Srinagar-Katra-Srinagar route, with an intermediate halt at Banihal.
The train has advanced heating systems which prevent the freezing of water tanks and bio-toilet tanks, provide warm air for the vacuum system as well as laboratories and ensure the air-brake system functions optimally for smooth operations even in sub-zero temperatures.
