Ahead of the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari asserted on Thursday that Congress will bring back Jammu and Kashmir's statehood after coming into power in the state.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir chief Ravinder Raina filed his nomination paper for the assembly polls from Nowshera Assembly constituency on Thursday.
The delegation highlighted the long-standing absence of the Kashmir University Students Union, arguing that its reinstatement is important for increasing student engagement, addressing grievances, and also improving communication with the university administration.
"I am confident that Congress will give a good fight in the upcoming elections. We will lead with a huge majority. We have an issue of statehood, unemployment, job security, land security and power projects," said the Congress candidate.
Ahead of the legislative assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification regarding the publication of exit polls during the election period.
A body of a female advocate was found floating in a canal in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj. The victim has been identified as Mohini Tomar, who was missing from the gate of the Kotwali Sadar area district court at around 2.30 PM on September 3.
