The accused identified as Benedict Sabu is a resident of Kerala and was studying at a nursing course in a college in Mangaluru, the police officials said on Sunday.
The booked police officers allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakhs from two youths from Kerala to avoid arrest in a case registered against them in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
“Today we are complaining to the Governor about the video shooting case at Udupi College. This case should be fully investigated, and a SIT should be formed. This must be investigated by SIT only. We have no faith in the Udupi Police Department,” said Former CM Basavaraj Bommai.
Days after an alleged incident of three girls of a medical college in Karnataka’s Udupi district, filming fellow students in the washroom was reported, the Udupi Police have registered two separate FIRs in the case.
"No need to give to CBI or anything. The truth will be known after our department's investigation is over. It is not right to make accusations. Legal action will be taken. The police are working impartially without any pressure," he said.
