The Karnataka High Court on February 24 directed the State not to take any coercive steps against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh in connection with an FIR registered over his alleged derogatory remarks related to the deity depiction in 'Kantara: Chapter 1.'
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking to quash a private complaint and the FIR registered against him over allegations that he insulted the sacred Daiva tradition and a deity referenced in 'Kantara: Chapter 1.'
"Continuation of the proceedings in the trial court would amount to an abuse of the process of law. Accordingly, the proceedings against the fourth accused, Rahul Gandhi, are set aside," the court ordered.
