Amid political uproar over the Congress manifesto for Karnataka elections declaring a ban on Bajrang Dal, former chief minister and Congress leader Jagadish Shettar said there is no question of banning the right-wing outfit.
Ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday held a road show and public meeting in Varuna constituency of Mysore district.
"Rahul Gandhi is on bail, Sonia Gandhi is on bail and DK Shivakumar is on bail. Half on bail, half in jail and they talk about corruption", Nadda said.
Attacking Congress ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the former has become a slave of appeasement and vote-bank politics.
While releasing the corruption rate card in both English and Kannada, Karnataka Congress party leaders alleged that the ruling BJP govt in state has "looted" Rs 1.50.000 crore in the last four years.
"Rs 4,04,94,500 unaccounted cash seized from a house and a car in Zion Hills by KGF Police under the direct supervision of SP Dr Dharani Devi," police said.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal members recited 'Hanuman Chalisa', amid the row over Congress' promise to ban Bajrang Dal in its manifesto for Karnataka elections.
"Congress Party is behaving in a manner that will hurt the sentiments of others, and also succumb to their pressure. If the BJP spoke against the SDPI and PFI, the Congress leaders are disturbed. This indicates how the grand old party is doing appeasement politics," said Bommai.
With the promise of a possible ban on Bajrang Dal in its election manifesto being made a big election issue by BJP, the Congress has done an internal survey which says only a small section of people in Karnataka feel it is an election issue, party sources said.
A significant share of the population in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka is the fishermen community. The community play an important role in polls.
Karnataka is crucial for Congress as it can mark its revival for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. If BJP is defeated in Karnataka, the party will not be in power in any southern state
