Headquarters Army Training Command in Shimla will hold a 'Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav' at The Ridge, on July 24-25 to commemorate 25 years of the Kargil victory.
"We should know that the pattern of recruitment does not include years of service. An Army person has to be young. After the Kargil War, the Kargil review committee said that a young profile who is technologically advanced is suitable for the army," added Retd Colonel Divakaran Padma Kuma
To celebrate the Rajat Jayanti of Kargil Vijay Diwas and to commemorate the selfless service of the fallen heroes of the war, the Indian Army organised a spectacular weapon and equipment display at Mariani Military Station on Friday, PRO Defence said in a press release.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Thursday said that the Indian Armed Forces are taking multiple initiatives to maintain an edge over adversaries, and are improving warfighting doctrines, strategies, and concepts in response to perceived threats.
"The form of war is transforming rapidly due to technological advancements and the country's armed forces will have to be ready to accept this change," said CDS Chauhan.
The rally was organized to celebrate India's momentous victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War. The rally was organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with SAEL and NGO Pawan Prithvi Paani.
