Cyclone Biparjoy reached 330 km south of Karachi in Pakistan on Wednesday and is slated to cross the adjoining coasts, the Indian Meteorological Department said in a tweet on Wednesday.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in the latest alert said that Cyclone Biparjoy had moved further north-northwestward in the past six hours and now lay at a distance of about 380 kilometers south of Karachi and 390 kilometers south of Thatta.
"Cyclone Alert for Saurashtra & Kutch Coast: Yellow Message. ESCS BIPARJOY over east-central Arabian Sea, at 1730 IST of 11th June near lat 18.6N & long 67.7E, Likely to cross between Mandvi (Gujarat) & Karachi (Pakistan) by noon of 15th June," IMD said in a tweet.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that the very severe cyclonic storm (VSCS) "Biparjoy" is likely to intensify into an extremely severe cyclonic storm during the next 6 hours.
