Chief Public Relations Officer Eastern Railway, Kausik Mitra claimed that the loco pilot of the goods train ignored the signal, causing Kanchenjunga Express train accident.
A passenger, who was travelling on the Kanchenjunga Express at the time of the accident on June 17, filed a complaint against the loco pilot and co-loco pilot of the goods train.
The accident took place in the Phansidewa area of Darjeeling district on Monday. At least eight people died and over 25 people were injured in the accident.
