A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court, seeking directions for a judicial inquiry into the alleged financial irregularities in the expenditures made by the Delhi Government in Delhi schools, under its various education policies.
Special judge Kaveri Baweja extended the judicial custody of Naresh Balyan, Rohit alias Anna, and Sachin Chikara. Sahil alias Pole and Vijay Gehlot alias Kalu were also remanded to judicial custody until February 24.

Amid the growing backlog of cases, the Supreme Court on Thursday relaxed the conditions for High Courts to recommend the appointment of retired judges on an ad hoc basis.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Thursday, said that the state government has taken the stampede incident at Mahakumbh very seriously and has set up a judicial inquiry commission to investigate the matter.
Uttar Pradesh government has announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the families of the deceased. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also ordered a judicial inquiry and said that a judicial committee will submit its report to the state government within a time limit.
"We are also announcing financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the families of the deceased on behalf of the state government. The judicial commission will look into the entire matter and submit its report to the state government within a time limit," CM Yogi added.
He said PTI had formally requested the government to establish judicial commission to address their key concerns. However, the government did not respond to their demand.
PTI conveyed that it could be open to continuing talks. But, only if the government meets its key demands, including constituting judicial commissions and releasing political prisoners, including PTI founder Imran Khan.
