A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli issued the direction after one of the petitioners made 'scandalous' allegations against a judge of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice in an appeal filed by the Central government challenging a Karnataka High Court judgement by which it ruled that attending "jihadi meetings" of organisations which are not outlawed by the government does not amount to a "terrorist act".
Earlier this month, Taliban supreme leader Mawlawi Hebatullah Akhundzada ordered judges to fully implement Islamic law. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said the command from Haibatullah Akhundzada came after the leader met with a group of judges.
