Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP John Brittas on Tuesday expressed concern over Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi attending a tea party with BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after the conclusion of the Winter Session of Parliament.

CPI(M) MP John Brittas said the Opposition organised a mock poll ahead of the Vice Presidential election to minimise invalid votes. He called the contest an "ideological battle" and said cross-voting was possible as some MPs might vote "as per their desire."
