The meeting between the two leaders comes ahead of the third in-person summit of leaders of the Quad summit later today. PM Modi is attending the G7 Summit under the Japanese Presidency at the invitation of PM Fumio Kishida.
Sullivan, while addressing the media briefing also said that the Hiroshima summit would be a high watermark for G7 and that it will demonstrate real unity among the key democracies on a range of critical issues.
"India stands for respecting sovereignty, peaceful resolution of disputes, and adherence to international law," PM Modi said in an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun.
