A gangster linked to the Dilpreet Baba gang was injured in a police encounter near Kalra village, Jalandhar. Identified as Paramjit Singh Pamma, he tried to flee and opened fire. Police shot him in the leg. Two pistols and drugs were recovered. Further investigation is underway.
According to an official, the fire broke out in a tyre factory in the Gadaipur area of Jalandhar. He said that the fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames after the fire department received information about the incident at around 5:15 in the morning.
