The Border Security Forces on Friday recovered 11 packets of suspected narcotics, weighing approximately 11 kg, from a remote island near the Jakhau Coast in Bhuj.
"On June 25, in a search operation, BSF recovered 20 packets of suspected drugs from an isolated island off Jakhau Coast in Bhuj," BSF Gujarat said in a post on X.
The operation was carried out by an ICG Interceptor Boat C-437 on Tuesday. The fisherman, named Sanjay Giga, drowned in the sea, around 22 km from Jakhau, Gujarat.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has strategically based additional hovercraft at Jakhau, close to the Indo-Pak Maritime frontier and a capital ship at Vadinar in the Gulf of Kutch, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
