Nirmala Sitharaman and Denis Manturov exchanged views on strengthening economic and financial cooperation in areas of mutual interest to promote bilateral investment and trade.
This is the second meeting of EAM Jaishankar with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, during the course of his Indian visit. On Monday, Jaishankar and Manturov met representatives of Russian and Indian businesses at the India-Russia Business Dialogue in New Delhi.
An official from the PM Secretariat confirmed to ANI, "If the political situation of Nepal remains normal in the coming days, the PM will embark on a 3-day visit to India. This will be his first international visit (since becoming PM for the second time)."
The business forum participants discussed issues to further enhance Russian-Indian practical cooperation, including within the Intergovernmental Commission
Jaishankar spoke about the expansion of the correspondent relationship network under International Trade Settlement in Indian Rupees through Special Rupee Vostro Account system.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday said that India and Russia have crossed bilateral trade target of USD 30 billion before 2025 adding that it is expected that the trade will continue to increase.
