External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has written back to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, in response to his letter, urging him to secure the release of all fishermen apprehended by the Sri Lankan Navy.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Than Swe and discussed India's deep concern at the impact of continuing violence and instability in Myanmar on its border.
He further stressed that India is supportive of a greater role for Africa in the United Nations and other multilateral forums and invited the African countries to join the International Big Cat Alliance.
"Now you all know that India-Africa relations are deep-rooted and go back in history. Prime Minister Modi redefined our engagement in Africa by outlining its 10 guiding principles," jaishankar said.
