"There are global supply chains and when one single country accounts for 32-33 per cent of global manufacturing then it is logical that many supply chains will go to that country and this is a reality which we will have to factor into our calculations," Jaishankar said.
Jaishankar called on Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in Delhi on Wednesday and assured India's full support for development goals of Bhutan.
Regarding India's abstentions from some UN resolutions regarding Gaza, Jaishankar said the resolutions which "do not reflect the entire reality" of the situation by downplaying the October 7 terror attack by Hamas, can't be supported by India, which is itself a 'victim of terrorism.'
Highlighting the rationale behind this cautious stance, Jaishankar said, "Modi govt has been very cautious on FTA for two reasons. Number one, weighing the experiences and the results of previous and number two, our concern for the impact of FTAs on MSMEs."
