External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reaffirmed India's consistent and continued support for Mauritius in its quest for progress, and expressed pride in being a partner of Mauritius in its journey towards modernity.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday called on Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagnauth in Port Louis and appreciated further broadenning of the special and enduring partnership between both the nations.

He thanked Mauritius Foreign Minister Maneesh Gobin for warm welcome and stated that he looked forward to productive engagements to take forward the special relationship between the two nations.
"In India, we have a historical relationship with the people of Afghanistan. And this people-to-people connection is actually a foundation for our ties," Jaishankar said.
This comes around a month after PM Jugnauth visited India for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his new cabinet and Council of Ministers
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal made by the Ministry of External Affairs for appointing Vikram Misri as the next Foreign Secretary, succeeding Vinay Mohan Kwatra as Foreign Secretary.
Reflecting on the longstanding relationship between India and Marshall Islands, Jaishankar highlighted the expansion of bilateral ties under the Forum of India Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC).
