Jammu and Kashmir Students Association wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, on Saturday, expressing gratitude for the evacuation of 1,300 Kashmiri students from conflict-hit Iran.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a telephonic conversation with Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and thanked him for facilitating the safe evacuation of Indian nationals.

Jaishankar stated that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was right to not sign the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) joint document as one nation did not want to make reference to terrorism in it while the main purpose of the organisation is to fight terrorism.
