Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Thursday warned that there's "very little opportunity" for the house to run if Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is not allowed to make his point in Parliament about the 2020 standoff with China.
Kerala Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution urging the Central Government to withdraw the newly enacted The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025.
Ramesh expressed frustration that the LoP's inability to speak would render debates meaningless and accused PM Modi of using parliamentary sessions to deliver election speeches and defame historical figures like Pandit Nehru.
The Congress leader remarked that Piyush Goyal's "high-sounding claims go completely contrary" to what the US President, the US Secretary of Agriculture, and the US Trade Representative have put out in their names on social media.
"In view of the aforesaid discussion, there exists sufficient grounds to summon the accused persons Ragini Nayak, Pawan Khera and Jai Ram Ramesh under section 465, 469, 471, 499, 500 IPC on 27.07.026. Accordingly, the said three accused persons were summoned," JMFC ordered on Monday.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday demanded a parliamentary discussion on the trade deals with the European Union and the United States, slamming the Centre over Washington's claim that the deal will help them export more agricultural products to New Delhi.
He termed this "Trump-nirbharta", meaning dependence on Trump, while citing last year's Operation Sindoor and the announcement of the India-US trade deal earlier in the day as examples.
"They don't know how to read. If you ask Rahul Gandhi what nominal GDP is, he'll throw his hands up in the air... He doesn't even know what capital expenditure (capex) is. This budget is meant to lay the foundation for the country's future...," Jaiswal said.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday launched an attack on the VB-G RAM-G Act, on the 20th anniversary of MGNREGA, saying that the "new law guarantees only centralisation in New Delhi."
In a post on X, Ramesh noted several issues with the budget, including a lack of transparency, and stated that the budget couldn't live up to the hype. He noted that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman did not clarify budget allocations for several major programs in her speech.
In an official X post, the Congress leader said, "He told us Op Sindoor had been halted. He told us India had stopped buying Russian oil. And now this, " Ramesh said, referring to Trump's statements.
