Congress leader Jairam Ramesh Member said that first day of monsoon session of Parliament was “washed out” because Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government not agreed to have discussion the situation prevailing in Manipur since May 3rd.
Owaisi said Prime Minister took the pains to speak on the ongoing violence in Manipur after 80 days during which the BJP-ruled state "witnessed incidents of loot, arson and vandalism".
"We want to have a discussion on the Manipur situation in the upcoming session of Parliament. The second issue is the assault on democratically elected state governments through Governors and LGs, Delhi ordinance is one such example," the Congress leader said.
While thanking the Congress government for taking a stand against the Centre's Ordinance, AAP MP said that the move by the grand old party assumes huge significance.
