"Police Station Rajpora received information that terrorists had fired upon a team of forest department of district Budgam causing injuries to two employees, who had laid a checkpoint to apprehend the timber smugglers near Bangender Bridge," read the statement.
One terrorist was killed by the security forces in an encounter that occurred in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, said Indian Army.
"Terrorists fired upon & injured a civilian, Aqib Dar of Zafarpora Marhama, Bijbehara area of Anantnag, near his house. He has been shifted to the hospital for treatment. Area cordoned off," said J-K Police.
According to Kashmir Zone Police, the terrorist identified as Aqib Mustaq Bhat, worked for The Resistance Front (TRF). He was earlier associated with Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terror outfit.
In the latest terror attack, a child was killed and five others injured after a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast that took place in Rajouri's Upper Dangri village on Monday morning, the police said.
With the assistance of his family, police brought back Irfan Bashir Ganie from below Pulwama along with the AK-47 rifle which he had snatched from CRPF personnel on Sunday.
The victims were working at a private school at Bondialgam area. One of the victims hails from Bihar while the other is from the neighbouring country Nepal.
