The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police continue a cordon and search operation in the Saniyal area of Hiranagar on Monday, after receiving input regarding the presence of terrorists.
Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Police and troops of the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army have launched an intelligence-based joint operation in Hiranagar, Kathua.
The action was carried out under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with a case registered under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Magam.
The mock drill was held to prepare field forces to respond promptly to any untoward incident, especially of a terror nature, with quick and safe response and to assess the security response time, coordination, and effectiveness.
The CIK said, "Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), in a covert operation, arrested a terrorist, Parvez Ahmad Khan, from Delhi, for his involvement in terror funding and links with terrorists of a proscribed terrorist organization(s) operating from across the LoC."
In a sophisticated move toward digital policing, Police Station Khrew has registered its first electronic First Information Report (e-FIR) following an email complaint, according to the statement.
Police in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara conducted stringent checks across various bookshops to "prevent the circulation of banned literature linked to Jamaat-e-Islami", an official statement said.
