Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said that Axiom Mission 04, which will send Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla to the International Space Station (ISS), is now tentatively scheduled for launch its on June 22, 2025.
As Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to become the second Indian to travel to space, former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan called the Axiom-4 mission a prelude to ISRO's Gaganyan project.

The astronauts plan to spend up to 14 days aboard the ISS, conducting a mission comprised of science, outreach, and commercial activities. Shukla is set to become the first astronaut from ISRO to visit the station as part of a joint effort with NASA.
