More than 250,000 households are already benefiting from the reform in the electricity sector and the possibility of switching to a private supplier and receiving discounts on their electricity bill.
The move is expected to lower the electricity bill for all families in Israel, and can save each household hundreds or even thousands of shekels per year depending on the offers of the suppliers, the nature of use and the hours of electricity consumption.
Israel's Electricity Authority approved the updating of energy production and storage tariffs in order to encourage the construction of solar production facilities with a capacity of 100-630 kilowatts.
