West Bengal Assembly Leader of the Opposition and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday said that BJP MLAs will march to the Bangladesh Deputy High tomorrow at 3 pm to protest the arrest of ISKCON Bangladesh priest Chinmoy Krishna Das by Dhaka police.
Following the arrest of ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, in an official statement, said that the government is firm to uphold religious harmony in Bangladesh, irrespective of religious affiliation.
"I have spoken to MoS Pabitra Margherita, who comes from the North-East region. The people of Bengal are very worried. We want his immediate release," he added.
The law enforcement agencies are on high alert across the country amid tensions in Chittagong. Bangladesh has deployed extra forces in Chittagong and capital Dhaka.
