The Iranian-backed Houthis launched an unmanned surface drone in the Red Sea, targeting commercial shipping lanes. This marks the first instance of the Houthis using such a weapon since the onset of their attacks on merchant vessels in the wake of the Gaza war, as reported by CNN.
The Iranian-backed Houthis attacked a merchant vessel, MAERSK HANGZHOU and US Navy helicopters in the southern Red Sea on Sunday and attempted to board the vessel, US Central Command said.
Yemen's Iranian-backed Houthi rebels announced on Saturday night that they will target any Israel-bound ship in the Red Sea regardless of the vessel's ownership.
Condemning the hijack, it said, "This is another act of Iranian terrorism and constitutes a leap forward in Iran's aggression against the citizens of the free world, with international consequences regarding the security of the global shipping lanes."
Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Jan 30 (ANI): Iranian-backed Houthi rebels on Tuesday allegedly fired a long-range ballistic missile towards Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, according to Houthi-controlled Saba news agency.
