Coming out with a strong condemnation of the Iranian drone strikes on Israel in reprisal for the earlier attack on its embassy in Syria, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for an immediate cessation of hostilities on Sunday.
"In response to increased Iranian threats and the growing risk of escalation in the Middle East, the UK Government has been working with partners across the region to encourage de-escalation and prevent further attacks," the statement read.
