Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG), VK Saxena, launched the Vigilance Complaint Information Management System (VCIMS) portal, which is believed to be conducive to speedy action in dealing with and monitoring complaints on corruption, an official statement said on Thursday.
Amid the ongoing diplomatic row between India and Canada, the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday said that no information has been shared by Canada regarding the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The car driver has been identified as a resident of Vehari of Punjab province in Pakistan and an investigation is being launched into the matter after registration of the first information report (FIR) of the incident.

During the investigation, police checked CCTV footage from over 50 cameras installed in different areas of Madangir, Dakshinpuri, Devli Village, and Khanpur. Based on the CCTV footage and secret information, police apprehended two suspects within 15 hours of the firing incident.
"Based on concrete information, the troops caught a smuggler with 50 gold biscuits and 16 gold bars. The weight of the seized gold is 23 kg and its estimated value is Rs 14 crore. The smuggler was trying to bring this gold from Bangladesh to India," read an official press release.
