The airline operated its first evacuation flight from Jeddah to Kochi on April 30, 2023, evacuating 184 stranded Indian nationals who were stuck in Sudan.
"Another flight carrying Indian evacuees departs from Jeddah to New Delhi. 365 passengers onboard this 6th outbound flight are on their way back home," MEA official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted on Saturday.
Vinay Mohan Kwatra said that the Indian government and embassy's focus has been to advise stranded Indian nationals to remain safe and help them move to secure locations whenever feasible.
He also informed that in total 600 Indian nationals have either arrived in India or are on their way to return under operation Kaveri while stressing that the situation on the ground in Sudan remains "highly volatile."
As many as 128 Indian nationals, evacuated from conflict-ridden Sudan, arrived at Saudi Arabia's Jeddah under "Operation Kaveri" by the Indian Air Force aircraft C-130J flight, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said on Thursday.
The Indian Air Force very recently rescued another batch of around 250 trapped Indians from conflict-torn Sudan as part of the rescue effort. More than 250 people were evacuated from Port Sudan by two IAF C-130 J planes. Prior to this, 135 more stranded Indians were rescued from Sudan on Wed
"French evacuation operations are underway. Last night, two military flight rotations evacuated 388 people of 28 countries, including Indian nationals," tweeted the Embassy of France in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the situation in Sudan as well as the status of Indian nationals in the violence-hit country.
